The blog I picked is “Chax Cabrera: Sex and the City at Kung Fu Panda sa Panahong Tulad Nito” They’ve used the Filipino language in a much critical manner. The blog shows how the person reacts on local movies and foreign movies. The Filipino language used is deep, shows deep thought of the topic. Mostly they criticize the local movies since Filipinos don’t really know how to do much in movies rather than foreign movies.
The language they use in the blog is purely Filipino and each sentence is well detailed. There are some words in the blog that are uncommonly used in our time today; the blog shows how we Filipinos criticize the local movies, the differences of local and foreign movies. I myself too agree with the blog, not only that Filipinos have no originality they even make movies too corny and they don’t know how to animate that good as foreign people.
The blog clearly shows how criticizing we are, we mostly use our language in a criticizing manner but we try to put it in a good way, the words used try not to hurt the Philippine nationality but is just trying to prove something. Once a person has read the blog they see it more as a comparison which is how we Filipinos really are. We compare a lot, we like to criticize but we criticize because we try to put some sense into people to prove something right. The blog also tackles on how Filipinos make movies and how people react on local movies.
But at the other side of the blog it does not only criticize but shows the good side of local movies. Filipinos express their imagination through these movies, they try to give values in the movies they make, shows how deep us Filipinos are. We may be insulting at times but we also know how to use our language for a much better purpose.
They used our language to show what is more enjoyable to watch, or what is better to spend time. Despite foreign movies being much more interesting, the blog also shows that we Filipinos know how to appreciate our local movies.
The language used shows part comparison and part appreciation, it has criticized the movies, the language, there is a part where it says if you knew how to speak English you can live anywhere, isn’t that insulting? So they used the language in a much insulting manner rather than in a good way. The blog would immediately make great citizens of the Philippines go riot all over the person who wrote the blog, but this is a free country, we are allowed to express our feelings.
The language is used in a much negative tone, they might be insulting something right now, but there is no point to riot on the blog because it is just feelings put into writing. It is just a blog that’s trying to prove something to people who have read it.
Americans has greatly take over us Filipinos, majority of the Filipinos today think that local things are not worth it at all. We’ve learned to criticize our own being since we have been greatly influenced by the Americans.
The blog is humiliating and discouraging to us Filipinos but the writer of the blog tried to right it in a way that it won’t hurt the feelings of us Filipinos, The Filipino language is deep, filled with great emotions and he controlled his use of our language to prevent the hurting of feelings. The writer seems to be a vocal person, he writes what he feels.
We Filipinos are people who I’ve seen that are so expressive in writing, we love to write what we feel like the writer of the blog, but he tackles on topics that are more worth thinking about, things that need more thought, topics that are more futuristic. We have our own way of thinking, we are all different. We might see the blog in a different aspect but we should learn how to respect a writer’s point of view, understand people’s feelings.
Finally, the blogs way of talking is more on trying to help us Filipinos learn that we must improve ourselves, be different. But the blog might have given some remarks that have been much insulting but we should learn to correct these insults and prove that we Filipinos are different and we are unlike any other, Turn those insults into a positive view of our way of being a Filipino. We must be proud that our language is deep and our language is vocal and it can make a difference.
Our country has CHANGED, but why must we be influenced with the change? Accept insults or criticizes and learn from it.
